BASEBALL Frontier League: The independent Frontier League, which is a Major League Baseball Partner League, announced its 2022 season schedule will feature 16 teams aligned in eight-team East and West divisions. The league operated with 14 teams in four regional divisions last season with the two Quebec-based teams (Trois Rivieres Aigles and Quebec Les Capitales) merged as the Equipe Quebec travel team. Stead Denies Marksmen in Ice Bears Win

SPHL Knoxville Ice Bears Kristian Stead made 29 saves for his second shutout of the season and the Knoxville Ice Bears used a big second period to defeat the Fayetteville Marksmen 3-0 Sunday night at Crown Coliseum in North Carolina. Knoxville (13-2-1) has now won eight straight games. The Marksmen (11-6-0) were playing in their third game in three days. With the game scoreless in the first period, Stead denied a Fayetteville breakaway after a turnover in the neutral zone six minutes into the game. Rush Cruise Past Americans, 4-1

ECHL Rapid City Rush (ALLEN, Tx.) - David Tendeck made 36 saves, Stephen Baylis and Logan Nelson each had a goal and an assist and the Rapid City Rush beat the Allen Americans, 4-1, Sunday afternoon at the Credit Union of Texas Events Center. After a scoreless first, the Rush took the lead early in the second period as Alden Weller fired a shot from the blue line. AHL Chicago Wolves DES MOINES, IOWA - Alex Lyon tied a franchise record with his second consecutive shutout as he stopped 20 shots to lead the Chicago Wolves to a 4-0 victory over the Iowa Wild Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena. Forwards David Cotton, Jack Drury, Stefan Noesen and Josh Leivo scored for the Central Division-leading Wolves (14-4-1-1), who defeated Iowa (9-8-1-0) for the third time in four days and extended their winning streak to a season-high six games.
