October 23, 2024 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - Monumental Basketball President Michael Winger announced today that the Washington Mystics, General Manager Mike Thibault and Head Coach Eric Thibault have mutually agreed to part ways. October 21, 2024 - NEW YORK - This Thursday, Oct. 24, the New York Liberty will celebrate its first WNBA Championship in franchise history with a ticker tape parade through New York City. The parade will tip off at 10 a.m. from Battery Park and proceed north along Broadway to City Hall, through what is known as the "Canyon of Heroes." Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at City Hall honoring the New York Liberty at noon. October 21, 2024 - On Sunday, the New York Liberty (3-2) defeated the Minnesota Lynx (2-3), 67-62, in overtime to clinch the first WNBA Championship in franchise history. Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart became the first and second players since 2012 to win an Olympic Gold Medal for 5v5 Basketball along with a WNBA Championship in the same season.
