Riley Armstrong Named First Head Coach of Maine Mariners

February 17, 2018 - WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced a change in their hockey operations staff. Assistant Coach Riley Armstrong has been named the head coach of the ECHL's newest team, the Maine Mariners, effective immediately. Wheeling has hired Jay Spess to take over as the team's new assistant coach. Komets Escape with Last Minute Win

February 16, 2018 - WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers came less than one minute away from taking a point out of Friday's game against the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena. Wheeling battled back from a 3-1 deficit with two goals, including the first ECHL tally by Bryan Arneson. However, with 32.6 seconds left in regulation, Marc-Olivier Roy snapped a 3-3 tie, lifting Fort Wayne into the win column with a 4-3 decision. Nailers Sign Bryan Arneson & Ryan Marcuz

February 16, 2018 - WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced two transactions, which both take effect immediately. Wheeling has signed forwards Bryan Arneson and Ryan Marcuz. Arneson, 24, was a member of the opening roster for the 2017-18 Nailers, becoming the first attendee of the team's tryout camp to be named to the roster.
