Bulls Season Ends as Clippers Win Title

September 12, 2019 - DURHAM, NC - The Columbus Clippers dethroned the two-time defending International League champion Durham Bulls Thursday at the DBAP, completing a sweep of the Best-Of-5 Governors' Cup Finals with a 6-2 victory. For the first time this series the Bulls scored the game's first run, as Kevin Padlo's RBI single to left put Durham up 1-0 in the third. September 11, 2019 - COLUMBUS, OH - The Durham Bulls allowed five runs in the first two innings and couldn't come back, falling to the Columbus Clippers 7-4 Wednesday night at Huntington Park. With the win, the Clippers took a 2-0 lead in the Best-Of-Five Governors' Cup Finals. The home side jumped out to an early lead, as after a bunt single and two walks, Ryan Lavarnway lifted an opposite-field grand slam for a 4-0 advantage after one inning. Clippers Use Long Ball to Earn Game 1 Win

September 10, 2019 - COLUMBUS, OH - The Durham Bulls allowed three home runs to the Columbus Clippers Tuesday night at Huntington Park, falling 8-3 in Game 1 of the Best-Of-5 Governors' Cup Finals. Columbus hopped on the board quickly, as after a pair of walks Bobby Bradley launched a three-run homer to right-center for a 3-0 lead for the home side. Governors' Cup Finals Preview

September 10, 2019 - The 2019 Governors' Cup finals are set to begin Tuesday in downtown Columbus, Ohio as the Clippers, who finished with the IL's best regular season record, host the two-time defending League champion Durham Bulls. The two franchises met in the decade's first Governors' Cup finals in 2010 and have combined to win seven of the International League's last ten championships.
